Web of Hearts

This little miniature framed rug is a web of Hearts, placed in a delightful distressed frame. This is my own design and one of a kind. The bird next to the rug is a make-do peahen, which is used for pins and needles and she has 2 small punched rug medalions hanging from her neck. I made 4 of these, the others have been sold and all were made with different fabrics and rug medalions. The tiny tom tomatoes are less than an inch in diameter growing in a pot on my screened porch. The looked so colorful on my kitchen shelf, I couldn't resisit snappy a picture!

New Works

The photos of the collage is an 18oo's collection of some of my favorite things, coverlets, samplers, hooked rugs, penny rugs, jugs and a wonderful early doll on a handwork green stenciled chair. All of my collages are one of a kind with 3 dimensional embellishments throughout the canvas. I start with a blank canvas, paint it and distress it. The images have been downsized after I painstakingly cut out each image, then the aging process on each item. Some of the samplers and pictures have been pasted to fiberboard to add a dimension to the work. All of my works are for sale, please enter a comment if you are interested in purchasing my works.

One of my projects is a grouping of 3 hinged wooden houses. Watercolors and dictionary definitions applied and distressed. The houses have a wonderful beeswax coating which adds a nice smooth texture to the surface....and smells delicious!
